Shelby County Historical Society Presents My Blessed, Wretched Life: Rebecca Boone’s Story by Sue Kelly Ballard

March 19 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

In collaboration with the Shelby County Historical Society, author Sue Kelly Ballard will discuss her book My Blessed, Wretched Life: Rebecca Boone’s Story. Sue Kelly Ballard was born in Kentucky and has lived in several states and overseas. She now resides in Elizabethtown with her husband, Jimmie. Ballard received the state DAR Women in the Arts Award for My Blessed, Wretched Life: Rebecca Boone’s Story.
My Blessed, Wretched Life: Rebecca Boone’s Story is Ballard’s imaginatively creative portrayal of the life of Daniel Boone’s wife, Rebecca. “She captures every mood and moment of Rebecca’s life in the backwoods and on the frontier with accuracy and passion, authenticity and beauty, and at a pace that keeps the reader diving headlong into each new page, eager to swallow up what happens next” (Jones, Randell, 2024). Come relive the history of one of Kentucky’s most famous women!
No registration is required to attend this program.
