Get a Library Card

Become a patron of SCPL

It’s easy! We just need two things:

Bring in your photo ID and proof of address (either your photo ID or a piece of mail).

We love it when kids read!

We encourage parents to bring their kids to the library, and we want your child to have their own library card! There’s no age requirement to obtain a library card, but children 16 years or younger must have a parent or guardian agree to be the responsible party for the materials borrowed.

Don’t live in Shelby County? That’s okay

If you are a member of the following libraries you can become a patron of SCPL, or if you have an SCPL card, you may obtain a card at the following libraries:

If you are a resident of a county not listed above and wish to become a member of SCPL, there is a $25.00 one-time membership fee.
