Using Your Library: Meeting Rooms

Using Your Library: Meeting Rooms

It’s no secret that we love when people are able to use the library and the services we provide. That is, after all, why we’re here. And, we want everyone to know how to take full advantage of everything we offer. As such, we are starting a blog series we’re calling Using Your Library. First up in the series is How to Use a Meeting Room.

The Carnegie Library Center

The Carnegie Library Center (CLC) has become our hub for all community activities. If your non-profit organization needs a place to meet, we have four rooms of varying sizes to accommodate your specific needs. The CLC is available for non-profits and community organizations. Please note that all meeting rooms require a $75.00 deposit fee and a Shelby County Public Library card in good standing.

The Program Room

The Program Room is the largest meeting room in the Carnegie Library Center. Depending on the configuration, the room can accommodate up to 300 people, and is located on the first floor, so your guests don’t have to climb stairs or ride on an elevator. We live in a technology-driven world, so we wanted to make sure all groups had the ability to present their content in a modern, sophisticated way. The Program Room features a high-definition projector, four wireless and four wired microphones, three HD TV screens, HDMI and VGA inputs, and a Blu-Ray player. Tables and chairs are available to set up. A kitchenette is attached, with a full-sized refrigerator, microwave, and dishwasher.

Meeting Room A

There are three additional meeting rooms on the second floor of the Carnegie Library Center, the first of which is Room A, which can hold up to 54 people, and tables and chairs are available. Similar to the Program Room, an HD TV, Blu-Ray player, and HDMI and VGA inputs are available to suit your technology needs. A feature of Room A is the adjoining kitchenette, with a with a full-sized refrigerator, microwave, and dishwasher.

Meeting Rooms B & C

Rooms B & C can accommodate up to 59 people combined, though they can be divided into two smaller meeting rooms. Both rooms feature the same HD TV, Blu-Ray player, and HDMI and VGA inputs and access to the kitchenette. Divided, Room B can accommodate up to 24 people, and Room C can accommodate up to 35 people.

How to Reserve a Room

The CLC is available for non-profits and community organizations. Please note that all meeting rooms require a $75.00 deposit fee and a Shelby County Public Library card in good standing. Complete the application online below, or download the application here.
