From Ms. Megan, Youth Services Librarian:

Happy Tuesday everyone! It is time for our first virtual Story Time! Since many of the Library employees have furry four-legged animals as family pets, I thought what better way to feature them, than to invite a few of them to my first online story time! We will be reading Bark, George by Jules Feiffer and Can I Be Your Dog? by Troy Cummings.

Story Time

Animation

Want to watch an animated version of Bark, George? Check out this video and try making each of the animals’ sounds with your child as George makes them!

Songs

Here are two pet-related songs to sing along with your kids. Try singing this version of BINGO, a classic rhyme, featuring actions and movements that follow along with the song. If you don’t have a dog as a pet, try out the second link about other types of animal families might have as pets!

Crafts

Now that you’ve listened to the story time, watched the animated story, and sang two songs, why not get creative? Using a paper plate and any other materials around the house, make a paper plate animal craft!

    Made me smile…

So glad you chose to film outside and with pets- adds a refreshing element.
