Charlene Hampton Holloway is a retired registered nurse, lifelong Civil Rights Activist, author, and inspiring public speaker. She is the author of Whitlock’s Compositions which tells the true tale of three African American women who did not give up on their chosen careers and obtained their education during the Great Depression through the 1960s Civil Rights era. Written to inspire today’s youth, Holloway hopes to encourage those of all cultures to set goals, obtain education in their dream careers, and never give up. Join us at the Carnegie Library Center as she shares her story of activism while participating in the Freedom March at the Kentucky State Capitol with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
