Join us in celebrating the Juneteenth Holiday with an evening event featuring Dr. James-Etta, an esteemed educator and author. Shelbyville native Dr. James-Etta has found joy in researching and writing her life story. Dr. James-Etta Goodloe Reed is best known as the author of her first book, All That is Good: The Journey to Overcoming and Achieving. In this memoir, she chronicles her life experiences by deeply examining her personal journal entries for self-awareness that put her on the path to healing. Her rural upbringing in a multi-generational household inspires her current genealogy research and her motivation to share her journey to overcoming and learning about her roots. Her experiences have taught her that the best relationship she can have is a relationship with herself. And that even in the difficult moments and unsettling discoveries, the more she knows, the more she grows. Join us for an evening of sharing and learning with Dr. James-Etta. This presentation will also incorporate themes and resources to commemorate the Juneteenth holiday.
*Copies of her book will be available for purchase.
