Can you (or your teenager) break out of the Library in just 45 minutes and solve the mystery of the town of Monowi at the same time? The Library invites you to come find out on July 19 at 5:30 and 6:30. Because of the special nature of this event, the Library is limiting the number of attendees to just 20 and encourages those planning to attend to register before the rooms fill up and to ensure that there is plenty of food for all attendees.

The Shelby County Public Library (SCPL) has joined more than 16,000 libraries across the country to participate in the summer reading program, A Universe of Stories. In collaboration with NASA, SCPL and libraries across the country have created a veritable launch pad filled with STEM resources, activities, and training opportunities that libraries can utilize to help inspire children of all ages to dream big, believe in themselves, and create their own story. This summer learning program will coincide with NASA’s sixty years of achievement and its celebration of the fiftieth anniversary of the Apollo Moon Landing.
